Synopsis: Don’t let my petite and innocent appearance fool you, because I’m one person you don’t want to cross. I’m Micah, the youngest member of Resurrection…If only they knew how young. My fake ID says I’m twenty-one.
And I will be…in four years.
What can I say? I blossomed early. Home sucked, so I left, determined to do something with my life.
Landing the gig as lead vocalist in the band was a dream come true. I’ve worked hard to make something of myself and nothing is going to ruin that for me.
Then He showed up.
He’s hot as hell and so into me. But he’s also twenty-five.
I don’t want to lie to him, but if the truth comes out I’ll lose everything, including him.
Thanks to the author, I was allowed to read an ARC of this book for an honest review. I have read some of Missy Johnson’s work before and really enjoyed it.
This book is about Micah who at 14 years old took on a new identity to escape her troubled life with her mother. The tragic death of her brother left scars on her that she must live with. Micah is now 17 but everyone thinks she is 21…she even has the documentation to back it up. When she becomes the new lead singer for an up and coming band, she meets Saxon. As sparks fly between the two, Sax has no idea that Micah is really 17.
As the story progresses and the two grow closer, you realize that somewhere along the way, Micah’s age will be revealed. The way that Sax finds out is totally unexpected. A person from Micah’s past brings back memories that she doesn’t want plus information that she doesn’t want Sax to have. The question is can Sax recover from the fact that she is only 17.
You find yourself wishing that Micah didn’t have to tell the world her real age. She has fought for herself and taken care of herself since she was 14 so she seems much older. The story could be about any number of young women that find themselves in situations where they must grow up and grow up quickly. Missy Johnson does a great job of telling this story. Hope there will be more of these characters in the future.

Parker wasn’t always a bad boy. It wasn’t until his life seemed to lose meaning that things started spiraling out of control. Nothing mattered though, not without her around. That was until he met Maggie, the introverted beauty that had taken one too many verbal beatings.
Maggie wasn’t exactly shy, but she definitely wasn’t confident either. Until now she had been happy existing in her small world, but she was ready for a change. She vowed to make friends in college. Simple, right? Not quite. Maggie discovers she was in store for more than just friendship. Instead she finds a painful crush on an emotionally unavailable guy.
As Maggie and Parker each head down the path of self-discovery, they learn it isn’t always easy to keep the ones you love when you are becoming the person you want to be.
“So, Parker, how long have you been in love with my little girl?”
I looked at him shocked. “What?”
“You’re watching her like You’re ready to pounce anyone who touches her wrong or if anyone under the age of sixty tries to dance with her. You drove all this way to come to a party that she hates. I know she is incredibly crabby when she is home, and I can only assume that has something to do with you. She has been happier at school this year than she was the last two, and I know about your piano performance, which was a nice touch by the way.”
I thought for a second. Was I in love with Maggie? This wasn’t the first time this had crossed my mind, but it was the first time I believed it could be possible. Yes. I am. I’m in love with Maggie Miller.
“I’ll ask you again, son. How long have you been in love with my daughter?”
“I think since the day I met her, sir.”
“Yeah I thought so. I saw the way you looked at her then as well. Have you told her how you feel?”
“Have you had sex with her?”
“What? NO! No, sir!”
He gave me a mischievous grin. “Ha. Just checking. Well, go get her.” He nodded to where she was dancing with a bald older man with wandering hands. I laughed when she had to move his hand off her butt for probably the tenth time.
“Are you going to cut my balls off?”

From national bestselling author Sharla Lovelace, comes another romantic and heartwarming novel set in the heart of Texas.
Ian was the wild boy every girl dreams of, a renegade who thrived on breaking the law and setting Savi’s body on fire. It was all fun and games and hot excitement, no strings attached, until the one day he got serious—and then disappeared without a trace.
Savi has spent the ten years since committing herself to her work, her daughter, and to not thinking about Ian—or love. Just when it’s possible she might have found the one man who can change her mind, Ian pulls into town, bringing with him all of the lust, danger, and excitement Savi remembers.
As Ian stirs up old feelings and draws Savi back into memories and passion she’s too weak to fight, he’s also digging up dirt on the man Savi is falling for, doing everything he can to prove that Duncan is not who he seems to be. And Savi, unsure whether she can trust either man, will be forced to decide between rekindling a love that never really burned out and building a new one that looks ready to catch fire.
“I’m not perfect and I will never claim to be,” I said. “I’m screwed up. I have baggage that has baggage, I have issues with girly things, and have done some not-so-smart things in my past. I have jacked up hair and I talk when I’m nervous. You once called me a mess, and it’s true. I’m—”
“A beautiful mess,” he said, stepping closer again. My breathing quickened and I had to think about exhaling. That look. That damn look. “I said you were a beautiful mess.”
The burn that had started low was up in my throat then, threatening to choke me. “Yeah, well,” I managed, the words clipped and quivery. “You were high on steak then.”
A sound escaped his throat that almost sounded like a chuckle, and his hands came up again. They stopped just short of touching me, as if he had to think about it one more time, and then they were on either side of my face, pulling me to him. I sucked in a breath and let my hands move slowly around his waist.
“And what’s my excuse now?” he breathed, restrained emotion making his voice gravelly.
“Lack of sleep?” I whispered, my heart doing bottle rocket launches against my ribs. “It does tend to make you—”
“Shut up,” he said, covering my mouth with his.
