“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”
The conclusion to USA Today bestselling author Priscilla West’s New Adult Novel Wrecked.
Wrecked should be read before this book.
Lorrie’s semester started off hopeful but ended in disaster. Now, she’s even more lost and confused than she was at the beginning of the year. As Lorrie flees to the only family she has left, she has to come to terms with how things ended with Hunter.
Hunter has fought for so long to keep the truth from Lorrie in an effort to protect her, but that has only caused more heartache and pain.
Realizing his mistake, Hunter has made a vow to get Lorrie back, but is it too late?
Will Hunter be able to overcome his own demons and help Lorrie through her pain, or are they destined to keep hurting each other?
Thanks to the author, I was allowed to read this book for an honest review. As I said in my review of Wrecked, my emotions were a “wreck” when I finished the book. I was very excited to get my hands on Rescued to see more of Hunter & Lorrie’s story.
Part 2 of the story is as emotional as Part 1. Lorrie’s problems in dealing with the tragedy and loss in her life continue to plague her. Without giving away spoilers, Hunter will face more of his own health demons. This book is a roller coaster of the couple fighting to make it while individually trying to deal with their issues. They continue to try to fight opening up to each other completely because they don’t want to bring the other one down. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can completely give in to someone and move forward and that is where this book takes you.
This is a book about recovery and acceptance. Keep the tissues handy because you will cry. You will get the conclusion to the cliffhanger from book one but you will take an emotional ride along the way. I give five stars to this story because I love how the author handled the story. No sugar coating anything, Ms. West takes you to the bare bones emotions of the characters. Great job Ms. West! Love both of these books.
